My boss and his wife are seeking to rent an RV or travel trailer for a 4-day trip to Washington, DC in September. They can rent from someone in KY, or someone on the way to DC. Willing to pay damage deposit and payment up front. Do you know of anyone in this area with a personal that they would rent??
Please advise! Thanks!

I am visiting my family after 6 years of living outside of the U.S.. The choices for me are:
Stay with relatives
Buy a trailer
or Rent a house.
I will only be in the states for a month and I will be returning to my never ending travels and pursuit of adventure.
It would cost me about 2,000 US to rent a partially furnished house for a month.
or
I can buy a cheap trailer (yes it is a nice one) for the same amount.
I don’t want to stay with family. I like them, but there is a reason I travel around. I don’t like being around people constantly and find that traveling lets me be alone in a way that can not be achieved when surrounded by family.
I own land in the U.S. and purchasing the trailer would add some value to my land, as it is considered an improvement. This would be a real investment. However, empty trailers do tend to attract problems. I would be leaving after a month. On the other hand, I have someone who has said that they would watch and care for it when I am not there (as in use it but make sure not to trash it). The trailer is a single wide, formerly lived in, in good shape and great condition. I have even had it inspected. It is worth a LOT more than they are willing to sell it to me for. More importantly, it would be there when I finally return to the states permanently. Which I do plan to do but not for several years more. I like it out here.
If I rent a house there is no investment. But there is also no muss, no fuss. It would be a quick rental and give me a place to go to take a breath as I am visiting the relatives. Utilities would be included and once I leave I don’t have to think about it again.
I am torn.
And I could really use the advice.
Thanks in advance.
I am always for investing! Rent isn’t investing anything.
SO, if you could find a "caretaker" to live in the trailer and take care of it then you win in the long run! ! ! Probably would add a value of $10,000 to the land????

We have a wedding to go to! Several of us live in south Texas, some in New Mexico and some in Denver. The wedding is in northern Idaho (of all places). Does it make sense to gather everyone along the way (Six or seven total) or fly and rent cars and hotels? This is coming up soon! The stay would be three days there. Advice?
Denver is the central spot so have the person from Denver rent the RV there. RVs are very expensive to rent and to put gas in so the less miles that you use it for the better. I think the best way is to gather up as you go like you said. Gather up the people in TX and drive to NM. Then rent a van if necessary in NM then all of you drive to Denver. Once you get to Idaho rent another van so you won’t be stuck having to drive the RV if you wanted to go somewhere without the host.
If you want to save wear and tear and milege on the Tx vehicles the person furthest south (say Houston) could drive to the next person (say Austin) then take that person car then drop that car off at the next stop (say Amarillo) and so on. That way no one vehicle will drive over a couple of hundred miles.
I would check out the prices of hotels, airfare, car rentals and the RV then factor in the price of gas (splitting the cost between everyone) before making any kind of decision. It might be cheaper for everyone to travel alone and fly.
Good luck.

motor home models
sprinter rv motor homes
The Sprinter RV may very well prove to be your perfect choice for a motor home, as it combines fuel potency and compactness with an extraordinary quantity of comfort and space within. Engine design has produced a productive model which may be surprisingly easy on your pocket, and the body design utilises the available space in the most productive way possible. This is the reason why sprinter RV models are turning out to be among the most solidly well-liked of recreational automobiles. There’s an extraordinarily good range of the population whose needs are met completely by this great all-purpose motor home.
Making the selection of which RV to buy is rarely simple, as there are so very many possible decisions in what has become a wonderfully tough market. The only real way you can narrow the options down is to follow a logical process of elimination, and to do that you are going to need to appraise your wants precisely. The 1st and most evident fact to think about is what number of people will be using the auto. Ensure you have sufficient space, as a cramped vacation can shortly begin to feel like a bore. If you have youngsters or pets, ensure that their wishes can be simply catered for also.
One of the great advantages of using recreational automobiles as the base for your holiday is you’re not proscribed by rules about which pets you are permitted to take with you. Always put the comfort and safety of your pets as top concern, and always remember that motor houses travel on roads which can often be intensely dangerous. Look after your pets well, and they could be a great added source of pleasure on an RV holiday. The Sprinter RV models are very well designed, with cosy bathroom, bedroom and living room improved by changing facilities. If you’re traveling as a couple you’ll find the roomy design gives you extra space than you would be used to from a vehicle of this size and type. If you have additional family members who need to travel with you now and then, you’ll find you can accommodate them without the necessity to lease anything bigger.
Unless you have retired with a nearly unlimited budget, keeping your expenses down while on holiday will be one of your top concerns. Choosing an energy efficient motor home enables you to have precisely the same holiday as before, but with a significantly lower cost. The Sprinter RV models are built to be as fuel-efficient as practical giving you a little bit of additional laying out cash on each trip you make. You can even be well placed to take an additional holiday each year, thanks to the savings you can make with a Sprinter RV.

motorhome for sale
rv for sale buy owner
RV for sale by owner! This sign represents a possible opportunity for you to join the ever growing ranks of people who take their vacations in such a way as to combine new surroundings and fresh experiences with the familiar, the tried and the trusted. Whether or not you should dive in and take advantage of this opportunity depends on many factors, both concerning the vehicle itself, and your own needs as a potential vacationer.
The most important factor is yourself, and your own needs when it comes to buying a vacation vehicle. Very rarely will an RV be so cheap that it is worth buying even if it is considerably different from what you really need. Remember, vacations are not cheap, and if you plan to take them regularly you will still need money for fuel, for your RV parking facilities, and for all of the activities you will be following on your vacation. Putting up with an unsuitable vehicle just to save a few dollars will hardly ever be worth it.
So much depends on your traveling companions and their needs. Will you have family or friends with you? Do you have any disabled family members or people with special needs? Do you have any pets you intend to bring with you on the trip? If the answer to these questions are not clear, then you need to think twice about buying a used motor home. You can always Rent an RV of the exact size you need for each individual trip.
If you know you are going to take most of your vacations as a couple, but you think you may have other people with you from time to time, it will still be worth your while picking up a small motor home. You will find it much more comfortable and manageable for the vast majority of your trips, and you can always rent a larger RV whenever you need one. If you have owned an RV before, you should have a fairly clear idea of what you need. If not, you may need to visit an exhibition and carry out a bit of research.
The other crucially important variable is the vehicle itself. On no account rush out and buy any second hand recreational vehicles without being absolutely sure of their condition. If you have mechanical knowledge, you can carry out your own inspection. If not, you will need to take the advice of someone knowledgeable. There is no way you can afford to be paying money for a potential disaster on which the serious faults have been camouflaged. Make sure that the vehicle is inspected thoroughly before you part with any money. This way you will stay safe when you respond to the sign saying “RV For Sale By Owner!”
