Motor Home Rentals Archives

I lived in Michigan, job transferred me to Atlanta. I rented my home in Dearborn, MI and my tenant lost her job with Ford Motor Company. She has vacated the home and I am left with an ARM loan that has risen to 11.5% and I cannot afford to make the payments for a vacant home. Economy is making it hard to list/rent and I have become dilinquent and forclosure looks like it is closing in on me. Will Countrywide come after me for the difference in what is owed on the home and what they sell is for on the courthouse steps?

I believe you are responsible for that money, but why are you asking here? Get some professional financial counseling before you lose the property and put a foreclosure on your credit record for the next decade. Doing nothing is the biggest mistake. Contact a financial counselor, the mortgage company, and look for other organizations working with others in your situation. There are resources to help you try and figure something out.

you guiys might remember me i asked the same question yesterday, but i want to add a little bit more information

hi, im planning a trip around america, and when i mean, around america, i mean every state. (except alaska and hawaii) but anyway, what do you guys think would be the best way of transport for me to get around? i was thinking of a motor home, itd be good cause i wouldnt have to spend any money on motels/hotels but its also bad because you cant really park a motor home at theme parks and casinos and restaurants and stuff like that. so would you know any car rental places that will let you hire cars to ge around america for around 6 months. if not, is there any other way of transport that you would recommend? (im not flying, and i dont necessarily want to go taxi/bus hopping, so can you guys help me out? so far, i think motorhomes is the best idea, (i am not going to hitchhike lol) id buy a used car then sell when i get back, except that that will make me pay a lot more money on hotels and stuff. so does everyone agree that motorhome would be best idea? or does anyone else have any ideas?

Motor Home Around Washington State

Washington State has everything to offer RV lovers – pristine old-growth pine forests, snow-capped mountain peaks, rainforests, glaciers and a coastline unlike anywhere else in the United States. And, right in the middle of it all is the city of Seattle, a great jumping off point for your motor home adventures.

You’ll find a wide variety of natural beauty and outdoor activities in Washington State.

The Olympic Peninsula has quite a variety to offer, for such a small area. There are beautiful coastlines that zigzag back and forth. You can see giant meadows where glaciers are slowly melting off and joining the ocean. And there are valleys where you can enjoy America’s only rainforests.

Here are a few of the most popular motor home parks in the area:

Crescent Beach and RV Park in Port Angeles puts you an easy half-mile from a great, sandy beach. This area is fully equipped with hook-ups and modern facilities, and there are a number of activities you can enjoy on the beach, including kayaking, kite flying and good surfing.

Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend is fully equipped with everything you’ll need, and it has two separate sights for you to choose from. You can choose a spot in the middle of the forest, or out in the open where you can see the Straits of Juan de Fuca. There are many activities in walking distance of the site, including museums, an aquarium and nature hikes.

At Old Fort Townsend Sate Park in Port Townsend, you get a great view of the port and the island. It’s right next to the water, so you’ll hear the ocean waves rolling in. They do not accept reservations, however, so it’s sometimes hard to get a spot.

At The Edge of the Volcano – Mount St. Helens

No trip to Washington would be complete without seeing America’s biggest volcano. In 1980, St. Helens erupted, sending ash into the air, lava over the ground and destroying the nearby communities. But don’t worry, they’re keeping tabs on her, and they’ll let you know if it looks like it’s going to happen again!

Now you can see the after-effects of the eruption. There are giant pieces of ruptured rock, lava beds, and the majestic cinder cone itself, looming in the distance.

St. Helens is located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and there are many activities there, including camping, hiking and other outdoor recreational pursuits. Here are a few of the best motor home spots in the area.

Mt. St. Helens RV Park at Castle Rock is an RV site favored by the locals because of its friendly, helpful staff and close proximity to all the things to do.

Toutle’s Eco Park Resort is as close as you can get to the mountain, and still sleep in an RV. The entire space is 90 acres, and it is full of activities such as horseback riding, hiking, wildlife viewing and helicopter tours.

Lush Woodlands And Melting Glaciers – Mount Rainier

How about another great volcano that has less chance of exploding? The 14,410 foot Mt. Rainier is a volcano just like Mt. St. Helens, but the almost 40 square miles of glaciers and snow help keep a cap on it. The mountain is surrounded by miles of forests and meadows. There are hiking trails and campgrounds throughout the area, where you can be surrounded by whispering pines with the snow-capped mountain peaks in the distance.

Mt. Rainier National Park has quite a few options for accommodations and is the closest you can get to everything. It offers sights such as hot springs, glaciers and geysers, and there is biking, fishing, horseback riding, skiing and auto touring.

Rainier View RV Park in Graham is a great spot for those who would rather get a view of the mountain than be at the base of it. It is located on a high hill where every site has a great view of the mountain and surrounding forests.

With it’s wonderful coastline, lush forests, sub alpine meadows and towering mountain peaks, Washington is a great destination for your motor home.

The United State’s western coast has many beautiful locations where visitors and locals enjoy nature. Washington State is motor home friendly with its parks, forests and wildlife. If your ruling out buses and no rental place will want to rent you a car for 6 months you could, lease a car but you’d have to watch your mileage or it could be very very costly.

A motor home would be the simplest of answers as you already stated and you can park a motor home at casinos restaurants and theme parks… they will welcome you with open arms.

Outside of no buses or motor homes and not renting or leasing a car my next best idea would be to take the train. Its probably the cheapest option I’m guessing or the second cheapest. But like a bus your on their schedule and once your off the train your back to having to deal with buses, taxi’s, shuttles, and subways and car rentals to get around town.

Ultimately I’d say the motor home sounds like your most convenient bet… outside of gas guzzling and its price per gallon.

The sales of motor homes are on the increase and the industry as a whole is expected to carry on growing throughout the next few years. Motor homes vary from one million pound luxury buses to more affordable smaller models. For this growth to continue however the industry will have to make changes, stream lining and becoming more cost efficient is a vital part of this.

Firstly for all new motor homes built there will be a reduction in the cost per man hour. Ultimately companies will have to increase productivity in order for them to achieve more sales at reduced prices. If customers wish to continue receiving great value it means employment in the industry may well have to be trimmed.

Methods used in the construction of motor homes will also have to change. The old ‘stick-built’ method will have to be rapidly surpassed. The method involves individually welding and bonding frames to the chassis and is intrinsically laborious and time consuming.

Modern methods of fully moulded sub-assemblies that fit onto the chassis will reduce the hours spent on construction and hence reduce the price of new motor homes. This is not completely new as some in the industry already employ these methods, the scale of this type of production will however need to be increased.

Aluminium and wood will have to be replaced as the primary materials used in the construction of motor homes. Plastics with structural strength will have to become more widespread. Once again fully moulded structures such as side walls will already contain insulation and fixtures such as windows and will simply bolt straight onto the larger frame. Subsequently time and energy will be reduced.

One matter of debate in the construction of motor homes is the main power source. The diesel engines present will arguably be replaced by turbine engines in the future as a lightweight and more efficient alternative. Also the use of hybrid engines should become a large element in the industry; as with much of the car industry the drive to be more eco-friendly is rapidly becoming a primary goal.

There are also a few design elements that will have to change in the future to make motor homes more comfortable and reliable. Firstly, industry standards need to be created to ensure the electronic systems are reliable and hard wearing. Power surges are still a major concern as the fuses can blow in an instant; leaving travellers sat in the dark. Added to the large televisions and sound systems that are present in modern motor homes the expense can soon be tallied when faulty electrics become a problem.

Secondly the major area of concern in the industry is waste management. All enthusiasts dread emptying their chemical toilets and technology in this sector has been slow in its fruition. Problems with blockages and leaks are of prime importance especially when considering the hazardous materials involved. Systems are now becoming apparent that are reliable and easy to manage, the ultimate is to have a system that leaves any waste materials in a small container that does not leak and is easy to empty.

In terms of layout, for years the bedroom, galley, lounge and washroom areas have been a prerequisite, this however is set to change. With the increased emphasis modern consumers place upon internet access, not only will the necessity for connection be vital but the incorporation of study areas will also form a large part of any modern motor home.

These trends are at the moment just speculation, they do however follow a logical course and for that reason many may well become a reality. The construction methods and materials are almost definitely going to change as are the advances in waste management solutions. Whether the industry can keep up to date with the demands of modern consumers will be the deciding factor in any continued growth

Motor home may stay on lot for two more years

Motor homes are becoming an increasingly popular purchase for many people who want the freedom of the open road and the benefits of cheaper travel. The main benefit of motor homes is that they negate the need to tow a caravan, making journeys easier and parking a breeze. With the option to drive all day in comfort and then simply pull up in a scenic location to rest your head the benefits are clearly there. For those considering a purchase, or even planning on hiring one for a holiday, it is hoped the following article will provide some essential information.

In general motor homes are divided into three distinct classes. These are classes A, B and C. Class A vehicles are regarded to be the most opulent and large while classes B and C are smaller and contain fewer amenities respectively. In most cases Class C vehicles will be the cheapest although prices to vary greatly.

Class A motor homes are normally the most suitable for longer holidays and extended living. This is because in most cases they are more comfortable and have amenities such as full kitchens and complete shower rooms. Additionally those who are planning to travel with a relatively large family are best off utilising a Class A vehicle. Despite the size of these vehicles, modern variants are surprisingly easy to drive and handle. An added bonus is that the driving seats in these types are extremely comfortable, allowing for long journeys in a relaxing space.

The decision to buy a motor home should only be conducted after careful consideration. In the majority of cases hiring a vehicle for a holiday before deciding to buy is an advisable course of action to follow. When looking at which to hire, compare it to the models that you are considering purchasing. By doing this you are able to achieve a test run of the home before forking out the entire sum. It is best to consider this as an extended test drive, allowing you to assess whether the home will be large enough and comfortable enough to cater for the requirements of your family.

As the prices of hotels and accommodation premises increase, buying motor homes is becoming more popular for those who regularly travel. It allows you to keep the price of holidays down and hence allows for more holidays in any annual period, and more ready cash for activities once travelling. With so many campsites all over the country and abroad, some of which are in sublime locations having your own means of transport and accommodation means that you are given the opportunity to see the most beautiful places while sampling the local culture.

Another way in which motor homes reduce the costs of travelling is that with a full kitchen, the cost of eating is drastically cut. While eating out in restaurants is pleasant, it can also be expensive, understandably having your own kitchen and the chance to cook your own meals makes eating while on holiday far cheaper. By taking a barbeque it is also possible to take advantage of the weather and engage in some al fresco dining.

As previously stated by buying or hiring motor homes it is possible to holiday for less money and enjoy your spare time immensely. While the initial outlay may be considerable, this cost is soon outweighed by the increased enjoyment of holidays and the pleasures of being on the open road.

camper rental for the East coast this summer?

i am trying to rent a camper or trailer or motor home for the summer for an east coast trip. how much would it be? say, from vermont to south carolina for a month. i would think this would be cheaper than renting a car and getting motel rooms.

Boy — I don’t know if it really would be cheaper or not.

I looked into this at one time and weekly rentals were 1000 to 1200. Some places charged a weekly mileage fee as well. Then add in the cost of a campsite $20-40 for a motor home. AND finally the cost of gas – this summer at least $3.25 a gallon and figure 8-10 mpg. at best.

This puts your per night cost for camper & site alone at $150-170. I have to think you can do better than that at a moderate hotel. And a car that gets good mileage could be had for $180-200 a week with good planning.

Clearly you are computer literate, take the time to pack a laptop, and stop at a coffee and wi-fi site each morning, grab a coffee and score that night’s room at a discount travel site. Then hit the road for the day’s adventure, knowing your room is waiting up ahead.

If your heart is set on camping though, you might try craig;s list and see if anyone owns a private camper they might rent cheaper than a big rental outfit.

Happy Trails!
